LAGUNA WOODS — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL REPORT. Laguna Woods operates a subsidized Yellow Cab transportation program for city residents age 60 and older, with reduced fares for eligible destinations in Orange County.
How the fares work
The current schedule lists a $0 copay for trips to or from Laguna Hills Transportation Center, Irvine Station and Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center, and $8 for trips of up to ten miles in Orange County. Longer trips have higher copays, including a separately listed John Wayne Airport fare.
Where to enroll
The city says residents can enroll at City Hall free of charge by showing age and residency documentation, completing an application and taking an ID photo. The current enrollment cycle is valid through June 30, 2027.
Book through the program
A program-issued ID card is required for discounted Yellow Cab travel. For eligibility, scheduling and access questions, call Laguna Woods City Hall at 949-639-0500. This is subsidized travel, not an unrestricted free rideshare service.
